Popular Ideas for Garden Rooms and Garden Pods
How Can Your Garden Room Work for you?

Expert Advice
and Bespoke Designs
Garden rooms (or garden studios and garden pods as some people like to call them) offer a great cost-effective alternative to a home extension. They can provide you with some fantastic extra space without the upheaval (or cost) of an extension! Our modern garden buildings can be built to suit a variety of uses, allowing you the scope to enjoy the things you love most, whilst utilising the space in your garden.
Depending on what you are looking to use your garden building for, we can advise on what’s needed.
Garden Office
With many of us now working from home, a garden office room is just what many people need and, as a result, the demand for garden office pods has increased dramatically. Luxury garden offices can create a space away from the home to allow that separation between ‘work-life’ and ‘home-life’. Our Warwickshire garden offices can be designed with wifi/data access points and plenty of sockets to meet the needs of busy professionals.
Garden Gym
Save yourself those monthly gym membership fees. Reclaim your garage or guest bedroom from the running machine! You can add your own private gym to your garden with plenty of space to work out in all weather. Install the equipment you need and play the music you want to hear! No need to sweat alongside others, you can do this in the comfort of your own dedicated garden gym.
Garden Studio
Do you need somewhere to enjoy your studio profession or hobby, and house all of your materials? Whether it’s an art studio, yoga studio, photography studio or even a pottery studio that you need, our garden studios can be tailor made to suit whatever type of practice you wish to use it for. Our fully insulated buildings are made using high quality materials, ensuring your outdoor space is just as comfortable as using a room in your home.
Cinema Room
Enjoy the privacy of your own home cinema in your garden. With a big TV screen or projector, you can pump up the volume in this designated space. So, grab your popcorn (at half the price) and sit down to your latest films in peace. And better still, you can always bag the back row! All cables can be hidden to provide a sleek professional look.
Garden Bar
If you love entertaining then why not entertain in your own garden room bar/pub, surely to be the envy of your neighbours! Being completely detached from your home, they can be a great retreat from the day-to-day routine of your house, whilst also offering a fantastic entertaining and socialising space.
Home Business
Ever thought about running your own business from home? Garden buildings can create an ideal space to allow you to do just this. Whether it’s a massage or therapy room, beauty studio, hair salon, or a creative/photography studio, we can create your own personalised business space. Added to this you will save money on renting or purchasing retail/commercial units, with the additional benefit of no commute!
Music Studio
For those music enthusiasts amongst us, why not create the perfect environment in which to pursue your musical interests. Through using acoustic sound proofing you can play and record music at your own leisure, in your own dedicated space, and without interruptions from anyone.
Games Room
Do you love a bit of snooker or pool? Or perhaps you’re a massive table tennis or darts fan? Or maybe it’s video games that have the appeal? Imagine a room totally dedicated to the games and hobbies you love, providing you with ultimate escapism and pure relaxation. We can construct a garden room of adequate size to accommodate all the games you love to play!
Inspirational Ideas for Garden Rooms in Warwickshire

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a garden room as a home office?
A garden room makes an exceptional home office — and it’s our most popular use. A dedicated, separate space away from the distractions of your home changes how you work. Every DPM garden office is fully insulated for year-round comfort, fitted with electrics, lighting and wifi as standard, and completely bespoke to your working style. Whether you need a quiet studio for one or a space for a small team, we’ll design it around how you actually work.
Can I use a garden room as a home gym?
It’s one of our more popular builds and it works brilliantly. We’ll make sure the flooring is right for your equipment — rubber flooring for heavy kit and impact, for example — that the room is sized properly for your intended setup, and that heating and ventilation are adequate for an exercise space. This last point matters: workouts generate significant moisture, and without good airflow this can lead to condensation. We factor this into the spec at the design stage rather than leaving it as an afterthought.
Can I have a bar in my garden room?
Yes — and garden bars are some of our favourite builds. A bespoke garden bar can be an extraordinary addition to your home and is something our customers absolutely love. We can incorporate fitted joinery, smart lighting, feature cladding and built-in sound systems to create something that feels like your own private venue. Pair it with app-controlled lighting and ceiling-mounted speakers and it becomes genuinely special. We have a real example in our showroom in Leamington Spa — well worth a visit.
Can a garden room be used as a teenagers' den?
It’s one of the most requested builds for families and it genuinely transforms home life. A proper, insulated space that teenagers can call their own — for gaming, friends, homework, music — creates a real sense of independence and takes the pressure off shared family spaces. One thing to note: garden rooms built under Permitted Development are not approved for use as sleeping accommodation, so they’re designed for daytime and evening use rather than as a permanent bedroom.
Can I have a home cinema in my garden room?
Absolutely. A well-insulated garden room makes an excellent cinema space — good insulation helps contain sound, and you’re already separated from the main house which means even less disturbance. We’ll ensure the electrical fit-out is right for your screen, sound system and lighting requirements, and smart lighting and speaker systems can be built in from the start for a seamlessly finished space.
Can I run my business from a garden room and see clients there?
For most home-based businesses — therapists, beauty professionals, tutors, consultants — a garden room works very well as a professional client-facing space. The key consideration is planning: occasional client visits for a home-based business are generally considered incidental to residential use and don’t require a planning application. If you expect significant and regular footfall, it’s worth checking with Warwick District Council or your local authority. We’ll always give you honest guidance based on your specific situation.
